Central Coast Veg Fest/Veg Events of SLO County

San Luis Obispo, CA—Why the HECK would ag-loving, tri-tip barbecuing San Luis Obispo host a President’s Day Weekend Veg Fest, a day of vegan food and “edutainment” from 10am to 5pm at the SLOUMC, 1515 Fredericks Street, three blocks from Cal Poly and the 101? For the H.E.C.K. of it (health, environment, conscience, kindness) AND to eat delicious food, learn, eat some more, and see and hear new information that could really improve your life and the life of the planet. Plus, it’s fun. Over 3,000 people attended last year’s Central Coast Veg Fest, including California Congressman Salud Carbajal, and it’s just getting better and more popular as major national food companies as well as local restaurants and businesses learn to “lean green,” and you can, too!

All ages are welcome, all questions will be answered at our educational booths, and it’s totally free to attend. The positive, feel-good event attracts people from all over Central California and boasts speakers and cooking tutorials from around the country.

Over 30 vendors will be open all day sampling and selling baked goods, plant-based burgers, kombucha, clothing, shoes, bags, stickers, skin care, gift items, vegan cheese, condiments, books, and more! Expert speakers will discuss cooking with plant-based eggs; finding and making non-dairy cheese, milk and yogurt; and how to successfully transition to a plant-based diet.

More information can be found at or contact The Veg Fest still has some openings for vegan vendors, cooking tutors and volunteers for the day of the event or before.

Veg Events of SLO County is a 501c3 non-profit of local volunteers who produce the Veg Fest and other vegan events “for fun and for free.” The mission of Veg Events of SLO County is: excellent events encouraging veganism. We hope to see you at the Central Coast Veg Fest in 2020, and beyond!
